Internship context

The Ruminant department deploys its offer to feed manufacturers with the constant aim of helping them develop their business and ensure the long-term viability of the farms with which they work.

This offer is based on 3 pillars: expertise, tools and services.

The environmental footprint of livestock farming has been a hot topic for a number of years, particularly enteric methane emissions.

In this context, TECHNA is seeking to build up zootechnical expertise in methane reduction, both through an additive and through the zootechnical advice TECHNA provides to its customers.

Internship assignments

Reporting to an engineer in the Ruminant Department, and after a phase of discovering the problem, you will have the following objectives:

Acquire expertise in order to propose ways of reducing methane through zootechnical adviceDevelop a protocol for measuring methane emissions with a view to an additive trialValidate the use of a tool (sensors) already identified by the companyConduct an in vivo trial on the zootechnical performance of an additive developed by TECHNA.

Methodology

  • Bibliographical research and updating of in-house knowledge on factors of variation in methane emissions and existing additives

  • Field trial + analysis and presentation of data

  • Participation in discussions on changes to ruminant supply: indicators, guides, nutritional recommendations.

Profile required

Trained as an engineer at an agricultural college or in an Animal Production Master's program, you are in the final year of your degree course and are required to write a dissertation.

You have a good command of IT tools, and your curiosity, initiative and autonomy make you a recognized trainee.

You have an interest in ruminants and the environment.

Terms and conditions

Location : Groupe Techna headquarters: Couëron (44), 15 km from Nantes.

Period : First half of 2024 Duration: 6 months

Compensation : €4.05/hour (i.e. an average of €614/month for 35 hours/week worked) + luncheon vouchers + access to CE social benefits.

Driving license and personal vehicle required.

Recruitment process

The recruitment department will contact you for an initial telephone or video interview.

During a second interview, this time in person, you will meet the internship supervisor, accompanied by a representative of the HR department.
